eHarmony Japan, live soon or not?

I thought eHarmony Japan was aborted and the Japanese team fired last November 2011, but the 3 months free trial screen says until 31st March 2012.
The older screenshot said until December 31st 2011.
It is not live yet, it seems eHarmony Inc. is trying to resurrect eHarmony Japan.
The Japanese will need to use their Visa credit cards to prove they are over 18 years old.
They can also add certificates for ID verification purposes.
Online Dating in Japan is not as "relaxed" as Online Dating in other countries.

How much money eHarmony Inc. had invested in developing the site for the Japanese? Who knows?

eHarmony Japan, live soon or not? or is it only a bluff to sell eHarmony Inc. to IAC (Match, Chemistry and others) for USD 500 million?

Badoo mystery?

It is suspicious or intriguing Badoo claims thousands of persons in Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia but Alexa does not show any of those countries in its rank.

Badoo claims:
Uruguay 581.613 persons
Paraguay 411,449 persons
Bolivia 649.609 persons

The same as I had posted last year.

over 16 similarities between eHarmony and TeAmo

See over 16 similarities between eHarmony and TeAmo.

I tested TeAmo using fake/dummy profiles and it is a copycat of eHarmony.

eHarmony is like the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, useless at all to break the sound barrier.
The Russians had copycatted the B-29 and now they copycatted eHarmony, a 12 years old obsolete site.

The Tupolev Tu-4 (NATO reporting name: Bull) was a piston-engined Soviet strategic bomber that served the Soviet Air Force from the late 1940s to mid 1960s. It was a reverse-engineered copy of the U.S.-made Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

Stupid Investors Series: Today TeAmoRU

Paid Content reports TeAmoRU received USD 1 million from Japanese investors UMJ.
Those stupid investors will waste their money!

TeAmoRU was reviewed last September 2011

It is quite similar to eHarmony.
TeAmo is based upon 17 compatibility characteristics; 5 of them are part of a proprietary Big 5 personality test. TeAmo includes Birth Order Item, thas is useless at all for Online Dating Purposes.

When you first register you receive 8 compatible matches. There is a complete report about "compatibility between you and your partner". That compatibility report shows you, TeAmo's matching algorithm performs as a machine gun shooting flowers (good for nothing, useless), with high level of false positives.
TeAmo offers the Guided Communication Process as eHarmony.

TeAmo is a HOAX with no scientific support of its matching method.
LovePlanetRu is also a HOAX.

celebrating 2nd year anniversary of this blog

The same as 1st year and this 6 pillars strategy.
Lawyers: Since some years ago I had been secretly assisting lawyers who sue online dating sites for fake/inactive profiles, sending them screenshots and other valuable information. I will continue and incentivize them during 2012.
Consumers' Associations: Since some years ago I had been secretly denouncing several online dating sites for fraud at several Consumers' Associations worldwide. I will continue.
Journalists: I continually contact the writers / journalists who write articles in several newspapers/magazines sending them my point of view, saying why the entire Online Dating Industry for serious daters in 1st World Countries is a HOAX, performing as a Big Online Casino, with a low effectiveness/efficiency level of their matching algorithms (less than 10%).
Researchers: Since 2005 I had been heavily contacting Academics. All the new and fresh research is over my desk. Nearly all the Researchers know who I am.
Actual competitors and newbies: I had contacted all of them and they are very comfortable attracting, converting and retaining subscribers with automatic renewal of their subscriptions and other credit-card billing trickery, than offering a good compatibility matching method. They really do not want to innovate.
Venture Capital funds: I will recommend them not to invest in the Online Dating Industry, except for my project.

IAC 2011 annual report

IAC 2011 annual report

At page 7:
"In February 2011, we acquired OkCupid, an advertiser-supported online personals service in the United States. During the third quarter of 2011, we increased our ownership stake in Meetic to 81% and acquired a 20% interest in Zhenai Inc., a leading provider of online matchmaking services in China. We are also the exclusive provider of subscription-based personals services on Yahoo.com."

At page 8:
"We refer to Match.com in the United States, Chemistry and PeopleMedia (through which we operate targeted dating websites) as Match's "Core" operations and to OkCupid, Singlesnet, mobile-only products and non-Meetic international operations as Match's "Developing" operations.

We primarily provide online personals services through branded websites that we own and operate, including Match.com, Chemistry.com, OurTime.com, BlackPeopleMeet.com and OkCupid.com, and through a variety of Meetic-branded websites abroad. These websites, all of which provide single adults with a private and convenient environment for meeting other single adults, primarily provide online personals services to registered members (those establishing usernames and passwords) and subscribers (those who establish a username and password and pay a subscription fee).

Competition
The personals business is very competitive and highly fragmented in the United States and abroad and barriers to entry are minimal."

At page 100, Year Ended December 31, 2011. Revenue by geography is based on where the customer is located.
United States USD 1,583,322,000 (76.88%)
All other countries USD 476,122,000 (23.12%)
Total USD 2,059,444,000

Last year I had posted about 2010 revenues
The IAC increased revenue in "All other countries" because they increased their ownership stake in Meetic to 81%. Meetic old, obsolete and rotten company.
We will see next year, because Match, Chemistry, OkCupid, Meetic, PeopleMedia, ParPerfeito will need to innovate or die.

Last year I had estimated Latam revenue for Match in USD 29 million less than ...... PlentyOfFish.
The unexploited Latin American Market remains enormous!
