When Match Group (fka IAC Personals) bought OKCupid (7 years ago) for an astronomical amount of money, the OKCupid team had the task to copycat Badoo, but they failed in that mission.
IAC / Match Group "acquired" HatchLabs to "develop" Tinder copycat of Badoo.

Knowledge-based companies always need intangible-assets to show in their balances as part of their valuation. (Many investors / investment rules require it) although some of those online dating and social networking patents could be in the category of "bogus patents"
One of the old tricks to make_up a balance sheet is to appreciate intangible assets.
They had patented each and every stupidity they thought (in USA), and now it seems the patenting era had reached an end.

Perhaps Russians from Badoo hacked / will hack Match Group to demonstrate they used to create / they create fake profiles from inside to entice customers to subscribe.
