NYTimes article: Match Group (MTCH) to acquire Spark Networks (LOV) ?

The Match Group can not innovate, it needs to acquire rotten companies to show illusory success to its investors.
Or worse, every time the IAC / Match Group acquires a big online dating site, it is like if they were paying a bribery to the VC investor who had previously invested in that big online dating site.

It happened with People Media Communities in 2009.

It happened with SinglesNet in 2010.

It happened with OKCupid in 2011.

It happened when IAC / Match "acquired" HatchLabs to "develop" Tinder copycat of Badoo.

It happened when MTCH acquired FriendScout24 in 2014 and then rebranded it to LoveScout24 in 2016.

Also MTCH "acquired" HowAboutWe in 2014.

Then Match acquired PlentyOfFish in 2015.

PlentyOfFish (POF) 1+ year under the umbrella of Match Group in severe decadence

MTCH has a big debt, in the range of USD 1.2 Billion.

Perhaps Affinitas GmbH. (in part owned by Rocket Internet SE)  (RCKZF) wants to be acquired by MTCH. They operate copycats of eHarmony called EliteSingles in English speaking countries and eDarling in other countries.
