article: Wall Street swipes left for Tinder (Match Group)

“The percentage of people using Tinder that will actually become paying subscribers is a lot lower than many people think,” says Brandon Ross, an analyst at BTIG who predicted the disappointing subscriber numbers in a note to clients earlier this week.

Be alerted USA FTC goes for Match Group, perhaps no more automatic rebilling clause soon!

The Match Group is not going to innovate and revolutionize the Online Dating Industry in the next years.

Match Group Inc (MTCH) Stock Is a Horrible Hook-Up
"There are other big problems with MTCH stock. It is loaded with debt — almost USD1.2 billion of it. It is trying to refinance some of that debt with a USD400 million bond offering, but the rate is effectively in junk territory — 6.375%. It has USD1.3 billion of goodwill on its balance sheet from all of its acquisitions, almost a third of its market cap."

The Match Group overpaid for PlentyOfFish (It was insane, USD575 Million for PlentyOfFish that past its prime 2 years ago). The Match Group had been doing all wrong, acquiring rotten companies to show illusory success to its investors.

Suggested USA FTC investigate several online dating sites for misleading statements, false claims, overpromises.

Social dating is vaporware.
Online Dating for serious daters does not need to be more social, it needs to be more effective/efficient.  It needs to reduce the false positives problem and big data dating IS NOT the key to long-lasting romance.

The key to long-lasting romance is STRICT PERSONALITY SIMILARITY and not "meet other people with similar interests".

The Online Dating Industry does not need a 10% improvement, a 50% improvement or a 100% improvement. It does need "a 100 times better improvement"
