Clarín exclusive interview to Gandelman
Mr. Claudio Gandelman (41) is the Match Meetic 50%-50% joint venture CEO for Latin American countries.
He was recently interviewed at Diario Clarín saying "To find a partner, the Internet is more successful than going to a disco"
"Online dating is a complement, it does not replace the other offline methods."
"38% of Match - Parperfeito users have a College degree"
"Women tend to reduce a couple of years of their age, or two or three kilos of their weight, and men tend add some inches to their height in their profile self descriptions."
"The importance of a wink"
He speaks about cultural differences in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico on how the daters reach the meet in person stage.
"In Brazil daters easily meet in a bar after a virtual meeting, in Argentina daters think a bit before meeting in person, if the dater will be compatible in advance or not. In Chile it is not customary to post photos. In Mexico, women rarely send messages to men."
Please remember:
Match operates in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and other Latin American countries and Match includes Chemistry -a compatibility matching engine- inside, it is called "Cupido Diario" i.e. Chemistry is embedded in Match for Latin American countries.
ParPerfeito, powered by Meetic operates in Brazil.
He says 70% of Match users want a partner for the rest of their lives.
Gandelman does not say nothing about revenue or performance, nor the bad taste commercial nor about what he had previously said at Caras y Caretas.
Match Argentina claims 4 million Argentinean profiles, but admits they are only 1 million active profiles (not paying members, only active profiles).
[i.e. 75% of profiles at Match Argentina are useless at all, they are inactive]
