Synergy Networking's president, Peter Seif says by simply looking at PlentyOfFish, he noticed it wasn't secure.

"It's not a secured site. If you were going to a secure site, it's encrypted your information, showing that it's a secure site up here in the domain," Seif said.

"These sophisticated scammers were able to hijack the PlentyOfFish website and illegally make it look like Fort Myers Police were calling the users."
