FT articles: Bank hiring: Wall St turns to machines to find better-behaved bankers & Making the grade at Deutsche Bank

Noel Volpe owes his marriage to the behavioural profiling used by dating website eHarmony. Now, the affable New York investment banker is using the same technology for a different type of matchmaking: introducing his employer, Deutsche Bank, to perfectly suited graduates.

This month, Deutsche’s US corporate finance division has begun screening students for the behaviours identified in its best junior staff, so it can hire high performers from more diverse backgrounds who stay at the bank for longer.

This February 2016 eHarmony launched ElevatedCareers, for match job seekers with employers but it only overpromises, delivers job matches as a machine gun shooting flowers (good for nothing, useless).

eHarmony is a 16  years old obsolete site and a HOAX, based on a big scientific fraud, only sustained by big marketing budget.
The Big Five normative test used by eHarmony, had been proven/revealed as an incomplete and incorrect model to assess/measure personality of persons.

If eHarmony were a medicine, it will be performing as placebo.
eHarmony's personality similarity approach is correct, but how eHarmony assesses personality (Big Five) and how eHarmony calculates similarity (low precision method) is incorrect.
Success rate* of eHarmony is less than 10%.
*success rate == percentage of persons who leave the site because they found someone compatible.
The majority, over 90% of eHarmony's members are not going to achieve a long term relationship with commitment (or marriage) using that site.

The Wall Street Journal had published an interesting article about Xerox last September 2012.
"When looking for workers to staff its call centers, Xerox Corp. used to pay lots of attention to applicants who had done the job before. Then, a computer program told the printer and outsourcing company that experience doesn't matter. The software said that what does matter in a good call-center worker—one who won't quit before the company recoups its USD5,000 investment in training—is personality."
For matching job seekers with employers, the best predictor of job performance is always: personality!!!

Personality Based Recommender Systems are the next generation of recommender systems because they perform far better than Behavioural ones (past actions and pattern of personal preferences)

The RIGHT approach to innovate in the Personality Based Recommender Systems Arena is exactly the same approach to innovate in the Online Dating Industry == 16PF5 test or similar to assess personality traits and a new method to calculate similarity between quantized patterns.

High precision in matching algorithms is precisely the key to open the door and leave the infancy of compatibility testing.
Without offering the NORMATIVE 16PF5 (or similar test measuring exactly the 16 personality factors) for serious dating, it will be impossible to innovate and revolutionize the Online Dating Industry.
The Online Dating Industry does not need a 10% improvement, a 50% improvement or a 100% improvement. It does need "a 100 times better improvement"

The same for Recommender Systems.
