Online dating has been around since the mid-1960s and has grown into a highly differentiated number of sites and businesses in many countries, including industrializing economies such as China and India. Sites uses a series of different algorithms to match people, and people can choose among boutique or huge sites, but all sites ask basic questions such as height, weight and age to use for matching. Safety concerns are real but manageable, and while finding a partner on line has become increasingly acceptable, many people find online dating hard, not rewarding, or just exhausting.

Ipsative tests are based on forced choice questions and responses. Each choice is scored. These scores can only represent the relative strengths of the person being tested and cannot be compared to any other individuals. Normative tests measure quantifiable characteristics on individual scales. These scales can vary independently.
